Mr. Ping Zhang is the Senior Vice President of Global Industrial Affairs at Shenzhen Hepalink Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (or “Hepalink”) where he leads global manufacturing, quality management and regulatory affairs. Mr. Zhang is also the Chief Executive Officer of Hepalink’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Cytovance Biologics, Inc., where he is directly in charge of the company’s CDMO business.
Mr. Zhang possesses over 30 years of experience in managing industrial affairs at multinational pharmaceutical companies.
Prior to joining Hepalink, Mr. Zhang was the Head of Industrial Affairs at Sanofi China, where he was in charge of Sanofi China’s industrial operations and successfully executed the localized manufacturing of Sanofi’s numerous new products and product transfers to China. While at Sanofi, Mr. Zhang also served as Site Director for Sanofi’s manufacturing sites in Hangzhou, Beijing, and Tangshan. In those capacities, Mr. Zhang made key contributions by leading the build-out of new plants and plant expansion projects, as well as executing M&A deals with local enterprises while securing the GMP certifications from the EMEA, Japan PMDA, and Australia TGA for those sites.
From 1988 to 2002, Mr. Zhang worked at Xi'an Janssen Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., in a series of positions with increasing responsibilities, including Production Supervisor, Workshop Manager for solid dose-forms, and Production Manager, responsible for solids and non-solids products manufacturing, maintenances and technical support etc.
Furthermore, Mr. Zhang is also an active senior member of many prominent professional organizations, including Chairman of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) China, member of the expert committees of China Association for Pharmaceutical Equipment and China Drug Supervisory Committee. Mr. Zhang has obtained the Six Sigma Black Belt certification and is a frequent speaker at industry events.
Mr. Zhang has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Shaanxi Master of Business Administration Institute - Xi’an Jiaotong University.
